Why you should stop allowing a bad day to make you feel like you have a bad life?
Life is unpredictable. No one can script it and plan according to his wish. We all have some bad days in our lives whose even thoughts can give us goosebumps. Their memories fill us with disappointments and we always wish to clear those scary memories out from our mind. Seriously! is it the right way to move on? I don’t think it is possible to forget anything until your brain is dead or you are out of your mind. Then what way you should follow to stop allowing a bad day to make you feel like you have a bad life.
Start with accepting things in the same way they happen. That means, don’t get stuck with the multiple possibilities of an event, that has already been happened. For example, aww! If I had done a little more, it might not have happened or if I could have checked more possibilities, it would have been more beneficial, etc. Things can only turn right until they have happened. When the time has gone there is no meaning of logging your mind around the regrets of failures. It will only waste your time and maximize your stress level. Hence whatever is happened let that go. Forget and move on.
Secondly, focus on your present. Whatever is happening, you can change its results by making the best efforts. You can plan your future accordingly. You can control the things around you and manage them for getting good results. Based on your present and past experiences, you can plan your next move and strategies & avoid repeating the previous mistakes again and again.
Sometimes we start connecting the bad things happening to us with each other and consider it as a sign of our bad luck. Every time we fail in a task, we start cursing our fate. Rather than improving the ways of making our efforts and correcting the direction of spending our resources, we free ourselves from guilt by resorting to bad luck. I agree, luck is not in our hands but our efforts are. So, work on improving your actions and not others. Despite overloading your brain with lots of negativity, focus on finding new ways to correct the things. This will increase your creativity and improve the way of taking the failures or bad happenings positively.
I will explain the same with an example. Consider the three kinds of students in a class having different IQ levels but similar report cards. The first student is very intelligent. He has good concentration and reasoning ability. His concepts are clear and he is more familiar with logic and facts. The second one is hard working. He has no concern with logic and facts but he has good learning ability and memory power. He used to memorize his notes. The third student is neither intelligent nor tries to rote. He used to cheat or copy the answer from a reliable source. The different ways of making efforts for achieving the same goal.
Now, when it comes to good career opportunities, the first student passes every exam and interview due to his ability to face every difficult challenge smartly. Second has a few chances to grab good opportunities because he is unable to configure the same problem if the situation is slightly changed. Obviously, the third one has the least or no chances to get any kind of such opportunities.
Now he blames his fate by stating that my marks are too good just equal to the others, then why this happens to me each time. He is not getting the point ” when I was enjoying and taking the things lightly, they both were trying their best” hence they are getting what they deserve.
An Aimless Person Gets More Affected During His Bad Days
Yes, if you are capricious, works according to your ease and you are under the control of your mood, its a fact that a single bad day will affect you so deep with a great instant. Since you have no aim, it means nothing to do besides whatever you are doing for passing your time presently. You have nothing to stay focused on and your all attention is easily grabbed by your failure.
On the second hand, the persons having an aim are highly focused on their aim. They get affected but not stuck in the situation. They learn from that bad day and go towards their goals again.
A Bad Day Can not Decide Your Whole Life
As a report card can not decide the intellectual level of the students having the same marks on the same exam. In the same way, A bad day can not make your whole life bad. It all depends on many factors including your efforts, your selections, your will-power, your ability to deal with opposite situations, your dedication towards your goals, etc. Hence, stop allowing a bad day to make you feel like you have a bad life.
Do more focus on creating new memories, try new things to do, challenge yourself for improving your efforts, turn your thinking positive, replace negative surroundings, control your emotions and learn to let go some useless things, stop looking behind again and again, and last but not least live your every day with more energy and optimism.
